District enables new banks to pay taxes in Bogota online: find out which entities are available

The Ministry of Finance announced that it has increased to 21 the number of banks authorized to pay taxes in Bogota by Internet. We tell you which ones they are.

With the pandemic, more and more public and private institutions have adapted their operations to the Internet. Now, the Secretariat of Finance (SDH) reported the expansion of the number of banks to pay taxes in Bogota from its virtual office.

The news applies to all citizens who are obliged to comply with taxes in the capital of the Republic, such as Property Tax; Vehicles and Motor Vehicles; Industry and Commerce; Urban Delineation; Fund for the Poor, Gambling and Public Shows, together with their corresponding withholdings.

Those responsible for these tax obligations can now pay taxes in Bogota through the new payment button incorporated in the Virtual Office of the SDH.

The Tax Director of Bogota, Pablo Verástegui, said that “with this new functionality, we expand the channels for receiving payments available in the Virtual Office for taxpayers, which will allow the Secretariat of Finance to provide a better service to citizens”.

Paying taxes in Bogota: These are the banks enabled for payment by Internet

According to the entity, 21 financial entities are already enabled through which citizens will be able to pay taxes in Bogota online.

The entities available are: Bancolombia, BBVA, Banco de Bogotá, GNB Sudameris, Banco Popular, Davivienda, Banco de Occidente, AV Villas, Citibank (exclusively for corporate clients), Banco Agrario, Banco Caja Social (BCSC), Banco Falabella, Banco Pichincha, Santander, Bancoomeva, Itaú, Bancamía, Banco Cooperativo Coopcentral, Serfinanza, Scotiabank Colpatria and ProCredit.


Taxpayers interested in paying taxes in Bogota online will find these entities enabled through the payment button of the Virtual Office of the SDH. Thus, citizens with bank accounts in any of the above financial entities can now debit the amount of their tax obligations from their accounts.

Likewise, the entity informs that the option for credit card payments is also enabled for users of Bancolombia, BBVA, Banco de Bogotá, GNB Sudameris, Banco Popular, Davivienda, Banco de Occidente, AV Villas and Citibank (corporate clients only).

Pay taxes in Bogota in person

The new functions to pay taxes in Bogota from the SDH Virtual Office are in addition to the traditional payment channels, including payment in person at authorized financial institutions.

  • To pay taxes in Bogota in person, taxpayers can consult the list of authorized banks on the page of the Secretariat of Finance.

1. Enter the official website www.haciendabogota.gov.co

2. In the main menu, locate the option ‘Taxes and Collection’ and then click on ‘Bogotá Taxes’.

3. There you will find all the district taxes of the city: Unified Property Tax; Tax on Motor Vehicles; Industry and Commerce Tax; Urban Delineation; Gasoline Surcharge;


Fund for the Poor, Gambling and Public Shows; Consumption of Beers, Siphons, Soft Drinks and Mixtures. Nationals; Consumption of Beers, Siphons, Soft Drinks and Mixtures of Foreign Origin; Consumption of Cigarettes and Elaborated Tobacco of Foreign Origin, Outdoor Visual Advertising and Foreign Lotteries.

4. Click on the tax of your interest which will direct you to the detailed information of each tax.

5. Scroll down and locate the ‘Payment Channels’ drop down menu.

6. Click on Payment Channels to find the list of financial entities authorized for face-to-face or virtual payment.
