National award to the best Colombian exporting companies: register your company

The National Association of Foreign Trade (Analdex) and ProColombia will award the best Colombian exporting companies. The two organizations announced that on September 7 and 8, 2023, they will grant the awards to the companies selected by the juries during the 35th version of the National Exporters Congress.

This is the National Export Award, “the highest recognition given annually by Analdex and ProColombia to Colombian companies that export goods with the firm conviction of their positive impact on the social and economic development of the country”, according to the organizers.

Thus, Colombian exporting companies will be able to register up to July 28 to compete for the highest recognition that Colombia offers to its commercial representatives abroad. All within the following categories: Large, medium, or small goods company; Service Company; Export cooperation; Cross-border e-commerce; Logistics and supply chain. The organizers also include an award for Best Journalistic Work.

The event is not only an incentive for the performance of the national productive sectors and the diversification of the export offer but also highlights the role of the companies in the national economy, which for the first time will take place in the Eje Cafetero.

With this initiative, the organizers wish to exalt the business fabric of the region: “This is the first time in history that we will hold the Congress in the Eje Cafetero, a region with an important business network and with a great potential in non-mining foreign sales”, said Javier Diaz, president of Analdex.

Award for Colombian exporting companies highlights exports from the coffee-growing region of Eje Cafetero

For the president of ProColombia, Carmen Caballero, with the event dedicated to Colombian exporting companies, both organizations are interested in “exalting the commitment and entrepreneurial heroism of exporters, who contribute to economic growth and the diversification and sophistication of our productive and exportable apparatus. They are important drivers of the development of the regions, and for them, our accompaniment and unconditional support”, said the director of the agency that promotes Colombian exports of non-mining and energy goods, ProColombia.

This dynamizing spirit of the national economy led to the very positive performance of exports from two departments of the Eje Cafetero, which showed positive behavior between January and April 2023.

According to Legiscomex statistics, exports from the Risaralda department showed an increase of 20.4% in value, so international sales (other than oil sales) generated were 165.8 million US dollars (USD), and the increase in the volume of exports was 16% with the departure of 53,416 tons of merchandise.

The main buyers of Risaralda’s production were the United States, Mexico, and the Netherlands, whose main purchases were avocado hass, vehicles, waste, and copper scrap.

International sales of the department of Quindío amounted to USD $140.3 million, reflecting an increase of 8.5% in the value of exports and 30.3% in volume, with the export of 29,885 tons of merchandise.

The main buyers of Quindío companies during the first four months of the year were the United States, Japan, and Canada, countries that purchased coffee and bakery products.
