Relationship between educational attainment and economic mobility among Colombian youth
It has been long emphasized that education is a key pathway to economic mobility or the possibility that an individual can enhance their socioeconomic position and pursue a higher quality of life. Given that Colombia is one of the most unequal countries in the world in terms of income and wealth distribution —where the richest 10% of the population receive almost half of the total income and control more than 70% of the wealth— understanding the role of education in fostering such mobility among its current youth is central to the discussion on maintaining inclusive growth and reducing inequality in the years ahead.
