The Bogota Theater and Circus Festival 2023 opens today and it’s free: these are the dates, times and venues
The Bogota Theater and Circus Festival 2023 will take place between August 18 and September 3, with nearly ninety activities. The citizens of the capital will be able to enjoy plays, acrobats, gymnasts, tightrope walkers, jugglers and magicians.
The festival will tour 16 locations in the city with Bogota groups, national guests and a special international performance. There are more than 400 performers in the program with 43 theaters and non-conventional spaces that will open their doors to be part of the festival.

The Bogota Theater and Circus Festival 2023 will be completely free until full capacity is reached, and its inauguration begins today August 18 at the Jorge Eliecer Gaitan Theater with the play Amo y Criado, by the Teatro Libre group, at 7:00 pm.
The events of the 18th edition of the festival are organized by the Instituto Distrital de las Artes – (Idartes) and the Asociación de Salas Concertadas de Teatro de Bogotá – (Asosalas), with the support of the Alianza Francesa de Bogotá.
“These 18 years of the Bogota Theater and Circus Festival mean a lot: a bigger festival, a more appropriate festival and one that needs more space; we are doing this to reach all Bogota residents, from rural to central Bogota”, said Maria Salamanca, director of the Arts at Idartes.
What locations will the Bogota Theater and Circus Festival 2023 visit?
16 localities will be able to enjoy the Bogota Theater and Circus Festival 2023. Among them are Usaquén, Chapinero, Santafé, La Candelaria, Barrios Unidos, San Cristóbal, Teusaquillo, Los Mártires, Antonio Nariño, Engativá, Ciudad Bolívar, Kennedy and Bosa.
