WhatsApp crashes again?

About two weeks ago, the instant messaging platform faced difficulties in its interface. Users reported the cessation of sending and receiving messages. This affectation lasted for several minutes and left in its wake multiple concerns.

Regarding what happened, the company has stated that it is working hard to mitigate the failures in WhatsApp in order to provide a complete and competitive service.

Part of this strategy to enhance the service consists of constantly updating the versions of the application in order to offer, precisely, a complete messaging service with a high degree of usability.

The objective of the most widely used instant messaging application in Colombia is precisely to provide a reliable messaging service that does not represent major difficulties for users of all ages.

For now, users remain with the expectation of seeing the failures eradicated in WhatsApp.

WhatsApp, one of the most used applications in Colombia

According to the Colombian Ministry of Information Technologies and Communications (MinTIC), in Colombia, around 76% of the population uses social networks. This percentage translates into 39 million users who by 2022 would use WhatsApp at a rate of 90.7%. These figures make the app the third most used social network, surpassed only by YouTube and Facebook.

It is the most used instant messaging application in the country and, of course, one of the most popular social networks in the world.

Studies conducted by Hootsuite revealed that, for last year, the instant messaging application had around 2 billion registered users globally.

The origin of WhatsApp

According to Jan Koum, creator of WhatsApp, the origin of one of the most successful applications in the world dates back to 2009. The idea would have emerged as an application to send notifications to a group of friends.

After starting its development, the idea became an instant messaging service whose initial inspiration was Twitter.

Initially, the app was intended to allow users a space to express their ideas in a closed, much more private circle.

Jan Koum, who had migrated from his native Ukraine to the United States, saw the birth of a business opportunity that was exploding in popularity year after year. So, the application became what it is today, a phenomenon in instant messaging characterized by its ease of use and efficiency in its operation.

It is expected that the flaws in WhatsApp will be corrected in the near future.
