The historical cultural wealth of Afro-descendant communities on the continent offers great opportunities for sustainable development and foreign trade.

We learned about the immense potential of the African-American market and the opportunities it offers for Colombian entrepreneurs in different sectors to serve a population that, according to data from the Chamber, exceeds 47 million inhabitants.
In addition, we connected with a city like Atlanta, which saw the birth of the great Martin Luther King Jr. and which has been fundamental in the anti-racist struggles in that country.
The visit, which we achieved thanks to the coordinated work of the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Tourism and the Colombian Embassy in the United States, was a great opportunity to continue strengthening trade relations between the two countries.
Last year, total exports to the United States exceeded US$6.6 billion, 27.2% more than in 2021.So far this year, 2,054 Colombian companies have exported non-mining and energy products to that country, and in that same period of time non-mining-energy exports totaled more than US$3.2 billion.
As an agency that promotes Colombia in the world, we celebrate and support connections that benefit the economic and business development of communities.
In conclusion, with activities such as this one, within the framework of the Petronio Álvarez Pacific Music Festival, pride of the country’s Afro roots, Colombia is positioned as a country of beauty and a great place for business, based on culture and ethnic diversity.
Our country has a varied and value-added offer, with prepared professionals, with companies that adapt to international trends and the opportunities offered by foreign trade, and with an allied government.
From ProColombia we will continue to coordinate efforts in projects and initiatives that benefit the economic and social development of the communities.
We are ready to continue adding to the dialogue of Colombia’s territories with the world.
